English Speech Contest for Secondary Schools 2021-2022
The English Speech Contest for Secondary School 2021/22 was successfully held on 20 November 2021. Contestants from different secondary schools gave their speech performances on the topic “Impact of Reality TV Shows on the Society”. The analysis and commentary of the speeches were critical and well-researched and the delivery passionate and engaging.
The judges, Dr. Holly Chung from Hang Seng University and Mr. Gary Pollard from Chu Hai College, appreciated the contestants’ efforts and courage. Dr. Chung gave away a “3-E” tip: “Excitement”, “Example” and “Eye Contact”. Mr. Pollard encouraged all contestants to be confident after the Contest as they had all done so well.
A total of 52 contestants from 17 secondary schools have participated in the Contest.
Professor Thomas Luk, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Chu Hai College of Higher Education gave an opening speech to all contestants.
The judges, Dr. Holly Chung from Hang Seng University and Mr. Gary Pollard from Chu Hai College, presented the Grand Prize Award to the Winner, Chung Mong Joo Nicole from Diocesan Girls’ School.
