In order to better prepare for an academically stimulating campus life in the four years to come, The Department of English of Hong Kong Chu Hai College, which is under the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, have prepared incoming undergraduate students with an all-encompassing English Enhancement Programme, spanning over 2 weeks from Sept 4 to 18.
Echoing with the theme — Catch the Big Fish: Learn how to learn English, this programme aims to up-skill students the four key components of English Language so as to equip them with the level of competence nearing to a point where it allows for a smooth transition to our Freshman English course. Each participant may receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course, acknowledging their diligence and readiness in preparation for their academic studies above and beyond.
The course content over the course of 2 weeks is nothing short of amazement. Our team of capable and seasoned academic professionals have curated a list of topics, helping students lay the groundwork for Academic English on the undergraduate level. Topics ranging from the practical tips of language learning to the construction of sentences, are essential in a way that it affords them with the tools to communicate effectively. As what big fish is implied in the metaphorical sense, we hope that students will find the programme rewarding and be able to enjoy the lessons throughout.
